"The Locusts" is a story of mankind's first interstellar colony -- "Spirals" tellsaf foreseeable future in which Earth's economy is bordering on collapse -- "Lion in his attic" is set in time when magic is dying out from overuse; the story of a sorceress and her lover in search for magical jewels -- "Talisman" is another story from the world of fading magic -- "Table manners" is where the tavern owner is invited on a hunt with alien carnivores -- "Limits" is an unsettling vignette in which Rick overhears two alien customers discussing humans' habits of setting limits and then trying to push beyond them.
