The Faraway Fairies is a series of thirteen exciting children's books. Eleanor Coombe is a Tasmanian author who also writes under the name of Dan Jerris. The Faraway Fairy books are one of her very popular children's series. The series was placed in the 2009 Books Alive, top 50 books selected by an Australian panel from all books, world wide, and recommended for Australian readers by the Australian Government to read. The Quest for the Crown is the first book in the Faraway Fairy series. Children will enjoy the adventures and schemes of goblins, gnomes, pixies, dragons and brave fairies who live on Faraway Island. The Quest for the Crown is an adventure book that tells how Astara and her friends Blaize, Cedar, Eden and Puck bravely set out to find the missing crown of the fairy queen. On their way they avoided being eaten by a pooka and a yowie, kissing an ugly trow and finding the power of their wonderful jewels given to them by the Fairy Queen.
